Flying Squirrels! : My friend Susan in a north Atlanta suburb reports that there are as many as nine of these flying squirrels feeding at her place at one time. They arrive around 9:00 p.m. every night. She says they are a little smaller than a chipmunk and as they glide, showing their white underbellies, you'd think they had a fabric cape tied behind each paw. When arriving at the feeding station they move quickly, making the neatest “tweep” sounds. She says "my first sighting was a quick glance up as one glided from tree to tree.
